Welcome. This is a gathering of the arguments, the observations and the old questions of the flat earth, set down in one place to read and explore. The aim is to be complete, so the reasoning stands together on its own terms.

There are three broad temperaments among those who take up the question, and many readers will recognise more than one of them in themselves.

The faithful

Those who read the world through scripture and trust the plain words of the old texts above the lecture hall.

The unshuttered

Those who suspect that a managed picture of the world keeps people obedient, and who treat the question as a matter of freedom.

The zetetic

Those who trust only what they can test by their own hands, eyes and instruments, and set the textbooks aside until then.
